Voices That Carry —
Alum Stories and Legacy Project
A Legacy of Speech, Debate, and the Power of Voice.
For nearly a century and a half, Oregon Forensics has shaped leaders, advocates, and storytellers — generations of voices that continue to carry beyond the podium.
From the first debate societies of the 1870s to today’s alumni leading in classrooms, boardrooms, and communities worldwide, the tradition of speaking, listening, and thinking critically remains one of the University of Oregon’s most enduring legacies.
Now, as we approach the 150th anniversary of Oregon Forensics in 2026, we’re launching Voices That Carry — a year-long campaign to gather Oregon Forensics alumni stories, memories, and reflections from students, coaches, and friends of the program.

Why it Matters
Oregon Forensics has always been more than competition.
It’s where students learned to challenge ideas, respect disagreement, and find confidence in their own voice.
By sharing your story, you help preserve that legacy for the next generation — reminding today’s students that the lessons learned in forensics last a lifetime.
Your memories connect the past, present, and future of Oregon Forensics — proving that our voices still carry.
